DSC00055-1.JPGHello and Welcome!

My name is Lynn Shafer, and I am excited to be your child's OT this year! I have worked as an occupational therapist at the Capital Area Intermediate Unit (CAIU) for 13 years. I graduated from Misericordia University with a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, and I also completed a Post Professional Pediatric Certificate Program through Misericordia University.

During my time at the CAIU, I have worked primarily in the preschool program, providing integrated occupational therapy services to many children in CAIU preschool classrooms, as well as a variety of inclusive educational settings in the community. I have also been a part of the Preschool Autism assessment team at the CAIU. Since 2008 (the year my first child was born), I transitioned from working full time at the CAIU to part time. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, I work with children at day cares and preschools, students who receive home based services, and children who attend a play group at our main office in Enola.

I currently reside in Camp Hill with my husband, Matthew, our 3 children, Gabriel (6), Gwendolyn (5), and Gavin (3), and our little Jack Russell mix named Gus.

I have always had a passion for working with children, and I feel fortunate that I have the opportunity to work with so many special children each day. My goal is to provide caring and individualized services to each child and his or her family, and to create a fun and challenging therapeutic experience that supports each child’s strengths and needs.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. My number at the CAIU is: 717-732-8400, ext. 8706, my email address is: lshafer@caiu.org
